Long before modern ostomy accessories offered the convenience and confidence people expect today, living with an ileostomy or colostomy with loose stomal output came with a unique set of daily challenges. Patients would struggle with sloshing, leaking, noise, and difficulties draining which could reduce confidence and wear time of their valuable ostomy supplies. By the 1990’s, Cymed saw the need for a simple solution to managing the liquid in the pouch and turned to science. After much research and testing, yet another novel product was born: The Original Ile-Sorb™.
